B.TECH MARINE ENGINEERING
This 4 year degree course duly approved by Director general of Shipping, Govt. of India or approved by AICTE.
This 4 year degree course duly approved by Director general of Shipping, Govt. of India or approved by AICTE. The Academy impart comprehensive training in Marine Engineering and shipboard practice. It comprises of academics and ship familiarization along with marine Workshop training (as per IMO modules) done at Academy. After completion of the Course at the Academy the candidate undergoes the four basis STCW courses. The candidate is exempted from class IV part A COC & obtains it on the basis of passing off the academic training/Degree
After this he goes for his Class IV Part B' written & oral examination.
Eligibility:
10+2 with minimum 60% aggregate marks in PCM from recognized Boards/Universities. Minimum 50% marks in English at 10+2 or 10th level is a must. Fluency in written and spoken English.
Age:
Not exceeding 25 years as on the date of commencement of training programe.
Medical Fitness:
Medically fit with eyesignt 6/6, with or without external aids. Maximum power permitted (+) 2.5 No colour blindness. All candidates have to pass complete medical examination and mandatory tests prior to joining at the Academy. WOS has its Own Panel Doctors for Medical Examination approved by D. G. Shipping Govt. of India.
Selection Procedure:
WOS undertakes an Aptitude and written test followed by CET of D.G. Shipping. The final selection will only take place after medical check-up through our panel Doctor. approved by D. G. Shipping Govt. of India.

Exempted from MEO Class (IV) Part A-Examination
Sea Service for 6 months as Junior / Trainee Engineer (Stipend 450-850 USD)
Completion of 3 advanced Safety Training Courses (AFF, PSCRB & MFA)
3 months preparatory course including simulator
Obtain MEO Class (IV) Exam part (B)
Complete 12 months sea time (2500-3500 USD)
4 months preparatory course including simulator Obtain MEO Class II (Part A & B) COC
Complete 18 months sea time (5500-7500 USD)
2 months preparatory course including simulator Obtain MEO Class I COC
Join Ship as 2/E and later C/E (7500-10,000 USD)
